WORLD BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIPS and INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS

Fifty (50) nations were represented.

The affiliation of Qatar and the People Republic of China was accepted. A new weight class for women was introduced, from then there was three classes as follows: lightweight up to 52 kg, middleweight between 52 and 57 kg, heavyweight over 57 kg.

Resolution for Procedures of Drug Testing were adopted into the iFBB Constitution by recommendation of the IFBB Medical Committee.


Peter Hensel (Germany) was the best in the heavyweight class.


Josef Grolmus (Germany) won the light-heavyweight class in very convincing style.


The best in the middleweight class was Lee Labrada (USA).


The winner of the lightweight category Herman Hoffend (Germany).

Team Posing was won by the USA team.
